This paper offers a description of Los Loros –which is a town located 65 km southwest of Copiapó, III Region– by providing information such as the history and the urban-rural layout of this area and the typology of it dwellings, which are defined as being associated with the local landscape. The author of this contribution suggests that these features should be taken into consideration when designing and building dwellings in order to avoid the loss of identity of this area, thus providing harmony and uniqueness to this zone.
