Abstract

This paper describes the relationship between women and habitat by focusing on four aspects: a) the diagnosis of the current situation and its associated processes –credit application, the role and segregation of women within the housing context, freeloading and the design factor and its relationship with housing and habitat as a working area and a space for participation, respectively; b) the analysis of the potential of women in terms of the management and improvement of neighborhoods, their working methods and capacities and their different perspectives and points of view about such a reality; c) the proposals made by the female leaders of supporting organizations, which are focused on the need for information and housing guidance, technical assistance, training, participation and housing planning; and d) the elaboration of perspectives that include aspects such as eligibility, application and inscription in housing allocation processes, the integration capacity of social policies, the quality of housing solutions, social participation, training and technical assistance.
