Abstract

This paper analyzes a series of social housing projects implemented by the Land Loans Institute (ICT) in Bogota between 1964 and1973. During this time, a group of architects at the Design Department of this entity challenged the actions taken by the ICT and searched for solutions in areas such as urban planning, the relationship between housing and public space, constructive systems and the flexibility of housing. This paper is based on unpublished maps and interviews with architects involved at the ICT during the reference period. The research concludes that the analyzed projects were conducted within the context of a rise in continuous research and reflective process that contributed to the development of social housing in Colombia.
