Abstract

This article exposes the paradigm shift that the approval of Law 21.057 signified, which goes from considering children and adolescents as mere objects of expertise and protection, to being considered subjects of rights, through a system of video-recorded interviews and Qualified interviewers, who assist judges, prosecutors and other actors in the judicial system, in order to provide effective and humane justice that recognizes their dignity. The main arguments against this system, its main characteristics and the challenges it encounters, among others, its implementation in the midst of the COVID 19 Pandemic are thus examined.
